Eveyone should know all this stuff already, but for the newbies, read the whole page, for contraptionists read the new parts below.
Camp Letters for 2008 - All Camp mates should read these letters From campmates and the Burningman Theme Camp crew. New ones posted when they arrive. Check back often, one posted so far. Last years are still posted on last years page and the new ones won't chance much from them.
Everyone should have joined jackrabbit speaks news letter at Burningman.com and our Yahoo group message board site for camp mates Only.
We have submited the Theme camp registration, that happened around May 15 this year, but send me any ideas you have and any pictures or pages for the web site you want posted.
The Theme camp information from burningman is here and it would be good to read if you haven't already.
Everyone should also read the burningman site concerning theme camps and villages and the trash, ( 7 bags in my trailer and about 8 taken by other campmates) and sump water
they can have.
(4 5 gal bottles) and gray water problems (barely kept up with it and pulled out a
third plastic pond to dry out the last inch before leaving).
Do not throw Kitchen waste water (sump) on the playa or in the shower ponds, this must be hauled
back out to treatment plants.
Even though we will not be cooking as a group you should read the kitchen section also
This is a leave no trace event and we should each figure on taking out about twice the trash than we brought in as packages etc., so Please leave space in your car for an inflated trash bag so you will still have room for it when it has been inflated with trash at the weeks end.
We are up in our numbers and we're going to need a guide to our camp mates since we have so many in our group now. please send me a picture and " bio" if you want to be in the camp mates guide.
This is a Leave No Trace Event and carpet fibers are not natural and will stay on the playa for thousands of years.

New Stuff
We had a run on the shower when first set up and went through Brians whole weeks worth of water in the first few hours.
this was corrected and we managed to last the week, but be aware of water use for showers and bring your water for them.
My feelings is that newbies are guests and not required to help more than they wish to, since they are already over whelmed by simply being there, but there has been a
suggestion that we require more from the campers, whether in the form of
helping with one of the three concessions we have, or Twister, or in my mind
doing an art piece or progect for the camp or community, including volenteering as a number of our group do.
We have basicaly doubled in size each of the past few years and this is a troubleing trend since half the group is un familure with what is required to run the camp and the
effort put into it by a number of key members, not just myself, and have no clue what they could or should be doing to help.
I feel we should work out a method of mentoring the newbies by their sponcers, and possibly a camp "Hand Book" or such letting them
know the concerns and needs of our camp.
I try to have information here for them, but I'm not always sure they get it, or that they are getting the emails being sent out.
So, If as King I may make a decree.
All Camp Members must join our email list and yahoo group or camp elsewhere!
if you have a problem with this please let me know why.
